One day during the summer, Nana, Uncle B, Kim & Ashlynn and us headed for the zoo.
We decided to go early and be there when it opened and then followed the zoo pro (Aunt Kim...who frequents the zoo with Ashlynn) to hit the favorites first before it gets busy and work your way back to the start. Our plan worked out great and we had lots of fun spending in the day at the zoo.
Everyone looking at the yaks:
Followed by reindeer. Pretty sure Logan is in the middle of telling Nana a story about how Santa just loans his reindeer to the zoo for the summer.
We all loved the seals, especially when Brian got one to follow his hand moments for so long.
Even Aubrie couldn't get enough of the seals. I think she would have stayed there for hours watching them swim and play if we would have let her.
Penguins were ok with Aubrie as well until they started making their loud call noise and then she was done with them...apparently too loud for her taste.
Baby Tiger was another favorite for her.
She loved watching him sleep and kept saying "shh" to everyone else while she talked to the "kitty".
Big tigers weren't so bad either, but the baby really was her favorite.
We visited in the aquarium in the zoo to see the sharks
and Logan was brave enough to touch a sting ray....a few times...and loved it.
Clark joined the touching action at the touch tanks
even Aubrie touched a star fist, but she laughed as I think it tickled.
Tried taking a picture of the boys in the shark's mouth, but Clark just wanted to pretend he was being eaten by the teeth and Logan was just bored...so we moved on.
The zoo had an armadillo out that we watched for a while
And then the boys got to pet.
We visited the bird house as well and fed the birds their treat stick. Aubrie was good until birds started landing on her then she was done with the birds being that close.
Overall, it was a great day at the zoo.
