New Adventure

So though we had promised ourselves that we would make any decision of move or change school districts by the end of July, we found ourselves applying for one more job on the 31st of July. This job was everything we weren't looking for: not even interviewing until August; not in Washington, but in Northern Oregon; smaller town then we were currently teaching in; etc, etc. However, when if came down to it, I supported Brian in wanting to apply for this last job, but was still looking for our next rental in Winston as we would need to head back to reality soon.
Well, the interview went great. Brian loved the school, job and people he would be working with and then he even got offered the job! Then we both looked at each other like what do we do now!? School starts in like 3 weeks. If we take this job, where are we going to live, when would we move, etc etc.
We did decide to take the job and so began our crazy whirlwind end of the summer weeks of moving so Brian could teach in a tiny town in Northern Oregon.
As we began looking for places to live, we realized there wasn't a lot of options in the small town where he would teach, but Longview, WA was only about 25 minutes away across the bridge, so we could live there. Well we went down to sign his contract and spent two days looking at a thousand rentals all over the place and nothing was working out, so we headed back to Nana and Papa's thinking what are we going to do.
The next weekend we needed to head down to Winston to get Brian's classroom packed up as they were going to need to hire a new teacher there and they would want their classroom ASAP and then pack out our storage unit as well, so we decided to look at some more options in our new area on our way to Winston. Our rental search took us to an even smaller town on the WA side of the Columbia River with a ferry that Brian could take across to OR. There we found a great house, in our price range, a block from the elementary school, that was available to move into within the next week....just when we would be arriving from Winston with all of our stuff in a U-Haul. So we were totally blessed and everything worked out in the end of our crazy search.
We were blessed to get to go say good-bye to all of our dear friends in Winston that we were going to greatly miss and was truly the sad part of taking this new job. Brian packed up his classroom and said good-bye to all of his co-workers there and then our amazing friends helped us load up the U-Haul at the storage unit and we headed North on our new adventure!!
Here are some pictures of the new place we found to rent in all of it's not totally finished, but close, remodeled glory:
Starting at the top, one of the boys room...they'll each have a dormer area on the third floor....with the best views in the house. I am sure Clark will love watching the big barges on the Columbia River.
Master Bedroom on the second floor with closet and nook for bed to the right and bathroom to the left:
Aubrie's room, also on the second floor, with tons of character that I love:
The landing on the second floor...also know as office space on the right and toy space on the left:
1st floor bedroom which is TINY, so probably Brian's office...so I can convince him to work from home some days:
Main Bath on the 1st floor:
"Dinning Room" or toy area as we see it:
Living room....don't you love the furniture?!:
Front entry:
Kitchen nook....where the table will go:
Kitchen...the part they are still working on. The stove will be replaced by the time we move in and they'll be done painting in here:
Backyard....fence to be built after we move in:
Another view of the backyard towards the house (that they are still painting and will probably be done before we move in...the shed to the right is coming down...after we move in):
