Our Elf

Our family was excited when Santa sent an elf to spent time with our family this year.

The kids received our elf in a package from the North Pole on the 1st. Santa's letter said he was a new elf, so we needed to name him. After much discussion, our boys agreed on Little Diesel (Diesel because we were told to watch our elf as he could be "tricky" and Diesel is the name of the tricky engine on Thomas...so since he is smaller then an engine...we got Little Diesel!)

Though I didn't get pictures of all the silly things he did, here is a picture overload of some of the things we found him doing.

The first morning we woke up to find he had helped himself to some cereal....and left a trail of cereal from the cabinet to the table where he ate his snack.

Morning 3 or 4 he had a note saying he had an early present from Santa and sent sent us on a scavenger hunt for clues to figure out what the present was (see next post to discover our present).

He toilet papered our tree one night.....and Clark wouldn't let me take the TP off for at least a week.

He spilled sugar, laid in it..

and made snow angels.

One night he got a little creative with a  dry erase marker

and added some art to our family pictures:

also another one of the boys favorites.

He was found using Chick and King as roller skates:

and taking a bath in giant marshmallows:

He built a zip line

from the dinning room to the living room.

He left us gingerbread kids with everything to decorate them (see future post for end results):

He went fishing in the boys bathroom sink:

He did so many fun things and  the boys LOVED looking for Little Diesel each morning.

Other places we found him that I didn't get pictures of where:

- playing the piano

- strapped in Aubrie's car seat with the car seat cover down...apparently wanting to go somewhere with us and making it really hard to find him that day

-hiding in a lantern on Nana's mantle

- reading Christmas books

- playing with the snowmen on Nana's piano...probably having a snowball fight

- turning Nana's toy fire truck's ladder into a slide for his ball

- reading scriptures to his other friends

-hiding in the curtains

- laying on the blades of the living room fan...the boys may or may not have turned the fan on to get him down

-fort made of Night before Christmas blocks and falling asleep in the fort

-Haning in a stocking

I am sure the list goes on as I doubt that is 24, but as you can tell, Little Diesel had some fun and we had fun with him.

We had to remind the boys that Santa would pick him up on Christmas Eve when he delivered their toys and take Little Diesel back to the North Pole with him, so they insisted on a picture with him before they went to bed on Christmas Eve:

Then Christmas morning we woke up to one last tricky move from Little Diesel:

He had barricaded their door so they couldn't get out,

but the figured out if they broke the bottom few strands, they could crawl out the bottom:

Then...in the mist of getting dressed...Clark read the notes Little Diesel had left for both he and Logan:

And one last surprise...Little Diesel left the boys a present under the tree on my Kindle...
