Olympics: Day 3

This is the WINTER Olympics right?
That is the question I kept asking myself this whole day.
Just like the day before, this day was in the mid to high 50s and when we arrived at the bus stop we were met by this sight:
Don't get me wrong, the cherry blossoms were beautiful, but it is only February!!! Could have been April if I didn't know better, but we definitely enjoyed the beautiful weather while it lasted. Though we didn't want to wait in the line to actually have our picture taken with them
here is proof that we did see the Olympic mascots in person.
Day 3 (Monday) of our trip was a busy one.
We started with a women's hockey game between China and Slovakia
and quickly decided that it is extremely difficult to actually take pictures of anything but the face off at a hockey game.
But enjoyed the challenge of trying and discovered that it is much more fun to watch hockey in person then on TV.
China ended up winning, but Slovakia made it a good game and we all enjoyed watching.
Then after a quick stop at McDonald's for dinner, we headed straight to another Men's curling match.
This time we watch Great Britain v Germany, Denmark v France and USA v China.
The other two games where great fun to watch, but the US just didn't have it.
We watched the US shoot their last shot of this match to seal the fate of losing every game they played at the Olympics....I guess it was a good thing we had already decided to be traitors and cheer for Canada in curling....lets be honest though...curling is not a strong sport for the US so you might as well cheer for those who really know how to play.
All in all it was a really busy day and though it was warm outside, it is definitely cold sitting inside arenas with ice all day. We survived though and have thoroughly enjoyed the Olympic experience so far.
