Sunday was a very low key day with lots of sleeping in, sitting around the condo watching Olympic events and visiting. After eating dinner at home, we got a bus to our first Victory Ceremony.
Still being our first real day with the bus system, we weren't sure how long it would take us to get there and get through security, but we quickly found out it was fairly easy.
We arrived before 6p this night, so enjoyed some early pictures in a basically empty stadium.
We actually were there to see the cultural experience which started at 6:30p that night
and enjoyed some aboriginal dancing, acrobatics and music.It was quite impressive.
As the cultural show went on without the stadium filling up at all, we realized that everyone, including my father-in-law, Randy, were out in the concourses watching the first hockey game with the USA v Canada. This is what the arena pretty much looked like as they started awarding medals at 7p, 
but as the hockey game ended (with the USA winning) it quickly started to fill up.
Sunday night we saw Shawni Davis get his silver medal for the Men's 1500m Speed Skating.
and Apolo Anton Ohno receive his Bronze for the Men's 1000m short track event.

As well as the Men's Ski Jump medals with Swiss winning gold, Poland silver and Austria bronze.
Via the feed from Whistlers medal ceremony we watched Bode Miller receive his gold medal
as well as a few other medal presentations. Overall, it was fun night and great to see some US athletes receive their medals in person.

Sunday nights performance was actually split between two groups: Trooper and Loverboy.
This is Trooper who apparently made it big in Canada, but not in US.
Loverboy followed them and we actually recognized a song or two from them, but failed to take any pictures of their performance. 
It was a crazy night, but fun and entertaining.
We'll just say that it is definitely the loudest, most fast tempo Sunday "fireside" we have ever attended! :) Though we might not repeat that activity on a Sunday, it was still a great time.

Awesome, I'm so jealous you were at the Olympics. I'm excited to hear about the other days.
It does look like mom survived the concert okay. I'm so glad to see some of the photos. Mom sent us our canada gloves so we feel like we were a part of the olympics too. Not to mention, the hedgehog chocolates were inhaled! Yum!! The light show almost looks like it is Vegas Style. :)
