Saturday morning, the 20th, we started out quite early by leaving for the Seattle Amtrak station at 6:15am (Thanks again Papa for the ride).
We found security at for the train to be quite a fun change from airport security as Amtrak employees plenty of canines on their work force.
After our bags where smelled, we got them check in and then headed for our seats on the train.
Our train left Seattle at 7:30a and we enjoyed a quiet ride on a beautiful sunny day!
Here are a few scenic shots from the train ride:
We got a cab ride to our condo (we only almost died twice in the ride), checked into our beautiful 7th floor condo and then headed out to the nearby Granville street shopping area for lunch and to get groceries.
Lunch was super yummy crepes and Pannini sandwiches at the Crepe Shop
and then we managed to find some food necessities (which can I just tell you, grocery shopping is expensive in Canada....$6 for a gallon of milk, $1.50 for a 8oz yogurt, $9.50 for a block or cheese...are you kidding me!!)
Anyway, we made it back to the condo at about 4:30p and rested for a little before we headed out again around 5p to catch a bus to a curling match.
I did manage one fun shot of my cute happy husband before we left though!
Loving the real curling going on behind him.
We headed back to our condo and fell asleep waiting for Brian's parents to arrive.
They arrived at 1:15a and the buzz to let them in totally scared us, but after letting them in and a quick hello it was good night for a good long sleep!
It was a CRAZY, LONG, FUN first day to our Olympic trip!
