School or No School?

That seemed to be the question of the month for February in this house.

We a few days of snow here this month which always brings excitement, but the first day that school was called off this month looked like this:

These pictures were taken at like noon....but yes it was a snow day in our district?!

The best part was, Brian never got a phone call that morning and so he was in his classroom by 5am doing lesson plans and getting ready for the day when the janitor came in around 7:30am to ask his what he was doing there? Brian totally thought the janitor was punking him when he kept telling Brian there was no school due to snow. (Other then there were also no kids around which was a little weird, but still could be normal as they eat breakfast from 7:30-8a, so he just figured no kids had made it out of the cafeteria yet.) Brian wandered down the office and received the same weird look and "what are you doing here" question from the Principal, Brian started to realize he wasn't getting punked, so figured he better call me.

By this point I was pretty much already on my way out the door taking Clark to preschool....a school district run preschool. "No School" said Dad. Mom totally thought he was joking as well, but we soon learned that it was true (radio stations started running the news about 8am...when school starts...awesome)

To say the least Clark was not impressed there was no school and when he was told it was because of snow he kept looking outside going Mom there is no snow. He actually told me at one point that I needed to drive to Miss Jesika's house and get the keys to the school because he was going to school!

(To be fair to the district, apparently there was quiet a bit of snow out in the county as well as a tree down that knock out power so even though there was nothing here in town, part of the kids were apparently snowed in pretty good therefore canceling school for everyone.)

 Two days later, school was canceled again but at least we woke up to this:

 Not a lot, but at least something I guess.

Then one day the next week we had another day that everyone thought would be canceled for sure especially with the previous weeks cancellations. However, school was not canceled and I drove Clark to school in 2 inches of snow as it was dumping more snow around me like crazy.

I forgot to take pictures first thing in the morning, but these pictures where taken about 10am after it had started to warm up and the streets had been cleared off:

 The funny part was, Clark was sure there was no school this day....look at the snow Mom..it's a snow day.

Nope it's a school day much to Dad's disappointment.

And the other sad part was that all the snow melted by noon this day, so we got no snow time.

So we had a few crazy days here the last month, but at least we had some fun in the snow as well.

Logan got in on some fun too



Clark found enough snow the second day for some snow ball fighting with Dad and Logan.



However, Logan is really not a snow ball fan, so this is the point he decided he was done.



Thanks for the visit snow. It was great to see you this year, however, I am ready to go back to the 60 degree weather we were having previously in January and get rid of this 40 degrees we've gone back to. The weather really is such a tease!
