Zoo with Nana & Papa

Last week, we went to Portland to meet Nana and Papa at the zoo for an afternoon of fun.
We saw many animals and explored the Portland zoo, which we had never been to before, but discovered it is really a fun zoo, so we'll be going back again soon! (Thanks Papa)
I didn't get pictures of a lot of things, but I managed a few from our fun day, so enjoy:
Logan checking out a goat. Clark petting sheep
and then a goat
and then giving him a hug good-bye!
(For those of you who haven't seen Clark in a while or don't know his personality well, this is a big step for him. Just a year ago he wouldn't even consider touching any kind of animal and now not only it he petting and feeding -as you'll see in a minute - he is hugging too! Wow, our little man is growing up!)
We watched a really cool bird show while we were there.
Here is Clark and Daddy watching the hawk eat on the pole right next to them.
And then we found the Larakeets!
Clark always loves seeing pictures of his cousins, Emily and Lauren, feeding the Larakeets and now he got to feed some himself.
They actually drank for Clark and he loved feeding them.
Then Dad got one to land on his hand to eat.
Here is a video of Clark and Daddy feeding him. Clark was a little nervous with the bird actually on Dad's hand, especially if Brian moved his hand too close to Clark, but Clark really did love his time with the Larakeets.

Next was the cats. Clark and Logan loved watching the jaguar pace back and forth and come right up to the glass. We watched him for a while.

And then, Clark of course needed some time in the zoo's giant sandbox before we could leave!
Clark digging to his hearts content!
It was a great day at the zoo. We still have many things to explore at the zoo we didn't even see, so I am sure we'll be back before the summer is through. Plus it is a fun way to wear the boys out so Mom can enjoy some quiet.
(Both Logan and Clark were asleep in the car before we left the parking lot!)
Thanks Nana and Papa for coming to play for the day. Come back again soon!
