We started swimming lessons last week and have been going every night for the last two weeks.
We did a parent/tot class, so Brian and I go in with the boys. Most nights have gone pretty well. Clark and Logan both have things they really like to do and others they really hate.
Logan loves to throw toys in from the side and then come in to go after them. This little man is so tiny though, that he is often super cold (the water is freezing in this pool) and ready to get out half way through (guess we'll have to get some more meat on his bones before we try another class with him).
Clark likes things as long as he is in control (big surprise!). If you ask him to do anything, it's no, but later he might try it on his own (unless it is putting his face in or head under the water...that is always no).
The first night we managed to get a couple of pictures (since Aunt Amee was visiting....thanks for coming by the way!), so we thought we would share:
Getting settled in with whale toys to play with.
Logan somewhat reaching for his whale, but not so sure he wants to let go of Mom....he has gotten much better at letting go for at least a second to reach of the toy which is good to see.
Headed back to the wall to throw the whales in again and then chase after them.
He loves snuggling in the towels after he gets out.
For their first real swimming experience, both boys have done wonderful and it's been fun quality time as a whole family which has been super nice.
Overall, the class has been fun. It's pretty laid back, so we can work on things at each child's wants/needs which is great.
Clark has had a few rough moments, but nothing like I thought we might face with him. (Thanks Aunt Kim for the practice sessions before, it made this class SOOO much easier....oh and apparently he will be coming to see you soon since he tells me almost every day that he wants to swim with Jared and Kim in the Kim's little Nemo pool today.)
Now I think we'll take a little break from swimming so we can do a few other things at night besides dinner and swimming and bedtime, but maybe we'll be back for another class later this summer.

Swimming every night? That's a big commitment! What fun family time, though.
