Fun at the zoo with friends

The week before conference, the boys and I headed to Nana and Papa's house for the week leaving Dad to get some homework done. Nana and Papa were actually in LA visiting Jason, Lisa, Emily and Lauren for most of the week, so we watched their house and Lady for them and had some fun on our own.
Tuesday we went to Point Defiance Zoo with my friend, Julie, and her kids, Reyan, Hayden, and Kai, who were in town seeing her parents as well.
The weather actually cooperated and it actually turned out to be quite a nice day. It was a little bit of an adventure with 5 kids and 2 adults, but we all had a great time.
Clark loved feeding the goats!
(For any of you that have gone to the zoo with us before or read previous posts, you will know this was a big thing for him.) On previous visits to the zoo, Clark has wanted NOTHING to do with evening petting the goats, let alone feed them, but this trip he asked on his own to feed them. At first he tried to feed them the quarters he had to get feed pellets out of the machine, but once he understood exactly what to feed them...off he went. He made sure to feed them one pellet at a time and had so much fun feeding each goat. (He also touched a star fish on this visit to the zoo, though I didn't get a picture of it, he was quite proud of himself for touching it and then told me they were cold.)
This was a favorite for everyone.
The little monkey is actually chasing the goat.
These two would run between the indoor area and the outdoor area and it was so funny to watch the goat wait for the monkey to come after him and then run away again. Clark will tell you all about the silly monkey that runs if you ask him....silly monkey!
All of us loved watching the tiger. He actually came right up to the glass to visit with us privately and if I would have snapped this picture 3 seconds earlier, Clark's head would have been right next to the Tigers. Clark and the Tiger had been growling at each other, but of course, Clark moved on right before I took the picture...oh well.
Here is Clark and Hayden watching the Tiger some more in the outdoor viewing area.
This is definitely a big tiger, but he is a beautiful creature as well....we enjoyed seeing him from our safe side of the glass and fence.
It was a fun trip to the zoo and Julie, it was great to see you again!
Thanks for meeting us at the zoo and spending the day with us. We had a great time and will hopefully be able to make our schedules align on our trips home again soon (or at least sooner than 5 years this time!)
