The last Friday of Christmas break, we decided that we would head up to Diamond Lake and do some tubing as a family. Then Nana and Papa decided to come for a visit and we decided we still go and take them with us and boy are we glad we did. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, with lots of snow and we all had a great time playing hard and then most people, except me...who was driving, took naps on the way home.
When we first got there, we started off on some smaller slops near the parking lot with our improvised sleds....tote lids.
The boys loved it and Clark kept finding taller and taller places to start while Logan still stayed a little lower:
But they were definitely having fun.
Logan was determined to build a snowman, even though it wasn't great packing snow.
Papa and Logan improvised by stacking up big snowballs that were on the edge of the parking lot.
Here is the happy boy standing proudly with his snowman:
Which he then informed us he was going to kick over, so he posed for us:
before he actually started kicking
Then it was on to the real tube and real tubing hill.
Here is Brian/Logan on the outside and Papa/Clark on the inside going down the hill one of many times:
Logan was in a super silly mood and was taking pictures of everything including one of Brian and I...just to prove I was there, though we don't have proof of Nana or Aubrie being there...they were too.
And then some funny ones of Logan
And trying to get him to do a little video:
Then more videos of Papa and Clark:
Brian and Logan:
And pictures of the boys and I coming down together for the last run of the day:
We had a great time and the boys more then wore Brian and Papa out with all the climbing up the gigantic hill multiple times so they could slide back down again and again.
Thanks Nana and Papa for coming on our adventure with us!
The boys had such a great time, Brian took them up again a couple of weeks ago when the tow rope for the tubes was running and they had some more fun...just the three of them, so there are no pictures of that fun as I stayed home with Aubrie that day.
Diamond Lake definitely won our winter fun vote so far....we'll see if there isn't one more trip in before the end of the season.
