First Day of School

Monday the 29th was the first day of school and our house was definitely excited for the year to get underway!
Being the amazing wife that I am, I was up long before Brian left at 5am for his classroom to get that first day picture...not! I'll truthfully admit I was still sleeping when the Daddy left, so there are no pictures of the teacher on his first day back to school with kids....but I'll report he was happy and excited to get back to teaching and get the year started!
I can hardly believe it, but Clark's in kindergarten this year! It's amazing how time flies.
His school does what they call a slow start where Monday was really just a parent meeting for an hour while the kids went on a tour of the school and then came home with us...then they have half the kids on Tuesday while the other half was came Wednesday before the whole class finally came together for their first real day on Thursday, so I have a mixture of pictures from Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, but here are a few of our big Kindergartner:
Definitely needed one with the backpack:
And one with his brother (broken leg and all):
Clark is doing really well in Kindergarten so far and loving his teacher Mrs. Davis. He is quite independent though and would like to be a big kid to do it all by himself, so sadly I have no real pictures of him in his classroom yet (plus it's hard to take pictures while caring the younger brother) but I am sure we'll get some during the year for your viewing pleasure. The only real problem we've had so far is that Clark was totally upset the first day I picked him up because he couldn't ride the bus! Needless to say we've had to have some talks about how the bus doesn't come by our house, so Mommy has to always pick him up, but with the possiblity of riding home with a friend one day in the future and now realizing that he beats all the kids we pass waiting at bus stops to school, he seems to be ok with not riding the bus for now.
We sure a excited for him to start a new year and can't wait to see how much he grows this year.

Logan will start preschool this year, so we took a first day pictures of him as well:
and this one is just too cute to leave out:
Though preschool did start the first day of school as well, due to his broken leg, Logan will be starting a little later in the year. :( Logan will be in the preschool Clark was last year, so we have been to visit Miss Jesika a few times to see the classroom and meet the classmates for a few minutes. Logan was super excited to see that it was his name on desks and cubbies in that class this year instead of Clark so he will definitely be ready to start as soon as he can!
As for the update on his leg...we saw the doctor on Thursday and they took another x-ray. His leg is almost completely healed..yeah!!!...and looking great. Therefore the plan is to wear the splint all the time for one more week, then we can keep it off and home and while sleeping after that, but when we go places still have the splint on for the next week. Then on the third week we can work on not needing it at all. Once he can walk normally without his splint he will get to go to school and we are all hoping that will be by the end of September! So if all goes well, Logan doesn't have to see the doctor again and we'll be back to normal in a few more weeks.

Yeah! A kindergartener!!!! So glad that he is enjoying his first week of school... we had, and actually still have, the same issue with riding the bus... it would take Blake just under an hour to make it home after the school if he rode the bus! No thanks! But I might let him ride in the morning since our stop is the last one before going to the school! Also, what wonderful news about Logan's leg! He'll be in school by the time Wilson #3 arrives! And Good Luck to Brian with his new school year as well!

Wow, Kindergarten?!? I bet Clark is so excited. Great news about Logan's leg. What are you going to do with time all to yourself? Heaven!
